October Big Day with David Rupp
October Big Day is here: a global day of birding where people around the world head outside to see, hear, and record as many bird species as possible! Join Sycamore Land Trust and David Rupp of Indigo Birding at Sam Shine Foundation Preserve as we take part in this worldwide effort. We’ll spend the morning birding the restored meadows and wetlands, exploring the diverse habitats that make this preserve a hotspot during fall migration.
Expect a mix of year-round residents and fall migrants as we contribute our observations to eBird, helping build a global snapshot of bird movement during this October Big Day! This hike is in partnership with Indiana Audubon and the Indiana Land Trust Alliance.
This event is part of the Indiana Land Trust Days, a statewide celebration of conservation featuring special events hosted by land trusts across Indiana, highlighting the importance of protecting and caring for the places that make our state unique.
