Andrea Huntington

Executive Director

Andrea has served as executive director since July 2021. She has a deep appreciation for Indiana’s rich and diverse landscapes and admires the work being accomplished by land trusts and partners. Andrea’s most memorable experiences have been those outside exploring nature. Her past conservation work includes building awareness and raising support for habitats and ecosystems along the southern Lake Michigan Watershed.

Andrea graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law and received undergraduate degrees in Political Science and English from Temple University. She has been active with the land trust community since 2017. In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, traveling and backpacking with her husband Mickey.

Connor Waddell

Development and Outreach Manager

A born-and-raised Hoosier, Connor has long been fascinated with Indiana’s natural lands. He is passionate about protecting and restoring wild spaces, and he strives to support the important conservation efforts being advanced across the state.

Connor brings a mixture of nonprofit and public-sector consulting experience to the team. He earned bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Applied Psychology from the University of Indianapolis as well as a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University. In his free time, he loves learning how to grow native plants, and he’s always looking to improve his plant identification skills.

Sarah Barnes

Communications and Executive Support Coordinator

Sarah began her career as a biological field assistant, studying Dark-eyed Juncos in California and Western and Mountain Bluebirds in Montana. While she loved fieldwork, her passion for sharing the importance of conserving natural habitats brought her back to Indiana, where since 2014 she has supported Indiana land trusts in conserving land and connecting people with nature.

Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University, minoring in Management and Animal Behavior. She continues to enjoy seasonal fieldwork, coordinating the Indiana Dunes Project Owlnet banding station for Indiana Audubon.
