Fall Bird Migration Hike

Celebrate the changing seasons with a guided hike to discover the incredible journey of fall bird migration! As summer gives way to autumn, thousands of birds travel through our area on their way to their winter homes, making this a wonderful time to explore local trails and see what feathered visitors we can find.
This special hike will be led by Volunteer Naturalist Jim Spier, who will share his knowledge of local birds and migration patterns. Along the way, you’ll learn why birds migrate, how they navigate such long distances, and what to look and listen for as we explore the trail.
Whether you’re an experienced birder or simply enjoy spending time outdoors, this hike is a fun and relaxing way to connect with nature and appreciate the wonders of the season.
Bring your binoculars if you have them (a limited number may be available to borrow), wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress for the weather. You never know what birds we’ll spot along the trail!
What to Bring: Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle as there is no potable water at this location.
Weather policy: Rain or shine. Event will be cancelled in inclement weather with no rain date.
This event is part of Indiana Land Trust Days. RSVP on the host organization’s website so that you don’t miss a thing – updates, reminders, or the occasional weather related cancellation or delay.
