Seed Collection at Sam Shine Foundation Preserve
Want to support Sycamore Land Trust’s Native Plant Nursery through meaningful, hands-on volunteer work? Join us for a seed collection workday at Sam Shine Foundation Preserve. We’ll gather native seeds across a variety of habitats, selecting species based on what is ready for harvest at the time of the event. The seeds collected will be cleaned and grown in our native plant nursery to support habitat restoration across our preserves, strengthening diverse plant communities that benefit birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. No experience is necessary; training, tools, and personal protective equipment will be provided on site.
This event is part of the Indiana Land Trust Days, a statewide celebration of conservation featuring special events hosted by land trusts across Indiana, highlighting the importance of protecting and caring for the places that make our state unique.
