Weed Wrangle at Amy Weingartner Branigin Peninsula Preserve
Help protect our native plants at Amy Weingartner Branigin Peninsula Preserve during our next Weed Wrangle! We’ll hike the trail while pulling and bagging invasive perilla mint, a rapidly spreading plant that can outcompete native vegetation and degrade wildlife habitat. Along the way, you’ll learn how to identify this species, why invasive plant management is critical to conservation, and how volunteer stewardship helps keep this special Lake Monroe preserve healthy for native plants and animals! Come prepared to hike up to two miles!
This event is part of the Indiana Land Trust Days, a statewide celebration of conservation featuring special events hosted by land trusts across Indiana, highlighting the importance of protecting and caring for the places that make our state unique.
